Random fainting

Over my life time I have fainted 3 times (I am 25). First time was during studying I was standing and answering questions. The second time was when a friend of mine was putting makeup on me, once again I was standing, but I kept moving my legs so I wouldn't lock them. The third time I was in college and I was sitting at a picnic table with some friends and I fainted. I am not sure what caused the fainting either time. All three were completely different and the length was different as well.

It could be a type of seizure. Because you are also having memory loss, I Would see a neurologist and get an EEG for a few days and hopefully catch it during the test

In Short, you need a Neurologist

The first time I fainted was when I was about 7 or 8. I was doing "bible study". Before I fainted I was getting really confused and couldn't remember what my sibling said just before I was asked the same question. I was rocking back and forth then everything went black. The second time I was 13 or 14 and I was just standing there getting makeup put on getting ready for my friends aunts funeral. I remember getting dizzy and switching my legs around but I still fainted. Both those times were about 5 minutes I was told and the second time I was told I stopped breathing. The third time I was outside in winter time with some friends I was 18 and I leaned my head back slowly because I was feeling dizzy next thing I know someone is poking me saying hey your shoe fell off. Not sure how long I was out but I know that the person who was sitting in front of me was coming back down the stairs that lead outside. Every time I have done blood sugar test or blood pressure they have all been normal, even when I was pregnant. I am thirsty all the time and you will hardly ever see me without something to drink. I drink everything from water to soda but not much soda.

It may be what I have which is called Carcinogenic Syncope. A simple tilt table test will tell you if this is your problem. When it started happening to me I could always feel it coming on but had no control and no idea what was going on. 1st symptom I would get was like zigzags in my eyes, which would turn to whiteout to tunnel vision, severe nausea, sweating, feel like I was going to lose control of my bowels and this happened twice when I was driving. Thank God I felt it coming and was able to pull over. Other times I was standing and had the same symptoms along with not being able to control my legs so I just fell once off a ladder while painting and shopping and hurt myself pretty bad but was very fortunate I didn't break any bones. If you feel this coming on act very quickly by laying down wherever you are and raise your legs as high as you can. This is caused by your blood pressure dropping very quickly and by lying down and raising your legs will raise your blood pressure. But take my advice do not drive afterward because it can and will happen again, stay hydrated at all times, do not be out in the heat. It can be treated once you know if that is the problem. My heart Dr put me on Celexa which helped for a short time, so they raised the dosage but it started happening all over again. So now they have me on the Celexa as well as a beta blocker that lowers my heart rate but doesn't lower my blood pressure to much which is called (Atenolol) and for almost 8 months now I haven't had a Syncope episode at all. If what you have is Carcinogenic Syncope it will get worse without treatment and also if you pass out 1 time you can't drive for 3 months without a spell. Be safe and get the tilt table test done to be on the safe side.

Hello,

How are your sugar levels, sometimes, when they get too low, you can faint, also, are you drinking enough water?

Hi blucosmo.
The cause of fainting is a sudden drop in blood pressure which results
in diminished blood supply to the brain.
The question is what exactly caused your blood pressure to drop suddenly.

Because one of your episodes was while seated, postural hypertension
is not likely, unless this was a random event, not associated with postural
hypotension.
Things to rule out is hypoglycemia, dehydration, emotional distress,
excessive heat, exhaustion.
If it were a heart attack or stroke, I'm sure you would have been aware of it by now.
Were there any warning signs, even very brief, prior to your fainting, which you remember?
Have you had any tests done and do you monitor your blood pressure periodically?

I hope this helps and I'm looking forward to your reply.

Best wishes,
Niko
