4 months (and counting) recycling of not feeling well

On Oct 4th, 2014 I got sick.  Seemed a normal sickness with a 100-101 fever, slight stuffed nose, scratch throat and fatigue.  What I didn't realize was this was the first day of a recurring "not feeling well" cycle.  Every few days to a week it reoccurs (though i'm never 100% well at any time since Oct 4th).  Symptoms are what feels like a low grade fever in my head (though I never have fever), constant post-nasal drip, a slightly scratchy throat and tiredness.  I've had full blood work including testing for Mono, Lyme, Parvo, Thyroid, urine culture, blood culture, sugar, electrolytes, kidney/liver functions all normal/negative.  I did have Strep Group G and Group C though symptomatic (apparently that means no big deal to the doctors) and was treated with 2 rounds of antibiotics (Augmentin; Cefdinir)

I've gone on a low sugar, no caffeine, no dairy diet and taking a daily, d3, garlic supplement and probiotic.  Not sure its helping but trying to help my body with whatever this is.

I've seen my MD, infectious disease specialist, ENT, Endochronologist and Allergist and have run out of options.

Any thoughts/insight on next steps would be appreciated cause this thing is not going away on its own and its severely affecting my work and life in general.  Thanks.

I started this thread in Feb 4 months after getting ill.  Well I finally got a diagnosis a few weeks ago and wanted to share.  I have Lyme and one of the co-infections Babesia.  The clinical "give away" if any doctor I saw had a clue about these diseases is the recycling of the worse conditions every 4 to 7 days.  That's a classic sign of Babesia infection.

I took 3 western blot lyme tests all negative.  I then decided to take a full lyme test with co-infections through Igenex and that's where it showed up.  This was out of pocket and not covered by insurance but worth it because its a serious disease.

If you can't find out what's wrong with you and it's been months you should definitely look into Lyme as a possible culprit especially if you're in an area where it exists.

Thanks for your response Jjewelz.  After conventional medicine has so far failed me I went to see a DO who practices Integrative (or Functional) Medicine.  She wants me to go dairy and gluten free to rule it out. I was hesitant but seeing I'm not getting any better worth trying it if only to eliminate it.  I see her in a week.

I don't think mold is the culprit as I've been working at the same job for 12 years and living in the same house for 8 and this literally came about on Oct 4th.

Do you feel seeing a rheumatologist would be a worthwhile visit?  I think its  the only specialist I haven't seen yet ;o)

What about trying a longer stint of antibiotics, say 3-4 weeks?  While I'm not a fan I've rarely used them in my life and if there is something lurking undetected this could flush it out by being on a longer regimen.  Thanks.

I have a few suggestions for you.

I think you should cut out gluten from your diet for a little while, at least two weeks and see if your symptoms improve at all. Gluten is known to cause many allergy like symptoms in your body, similar to the ones you are experiencing. Many doctors fail  to tell people that. Gluten is in many things, so get in the habit of reading food labels for it.

Secondly, I would see if where you live has any mold in it. Mold can make people very sick and can also cause symptoms like you have. Did you recently moved or start a new job before these symptoms started? There's a possibility that your work place might have mold in it as well. You can have people come out to check for it.
