8 months of vomiting sensation paired with gagging type cough

I feel the urge to vomit constantly and it is as if I have to constantly keep it down by sucking on nothing (think life saver) or constantly drinking water. Chewing gum helps maybe as a distraction sometimes. It's almost like a constant gagging sensation or something. If I stop doing the things I mentioned, I will have this horrible eyes popping out of my head cough that won't stop until I either start sucking again or sip water.

I have seen a nurse practitioner that reccomended allergy meds and omeprazole. This did not help in the least. Two ENTs both also reccomended omeprazole and nasal spray, still didn't work. They each put a camera down my throat and see some sign of acid reflux but it sounds like both of them were not convinced that's what is causing this feeling to this degree. I have been referred to  GI specialist. I have a wedding soon and I don't want to feel miserable like I have the last 8 months on that day. I wake up with it, go to bed with it, and live with it to varying degrees constantly. I'm fed up with it and I feel like im the only person in the world to have this exact symptoms.

Do you also gag and cough in your sleep, or is it only when you're awake?

Only when I'm awake, but as soon as I get up I feel it.
This is going to sound really ridiculous, but try a medical doctor who is trained in hypnosis. I had a friend with asthma who learned to calm her hyperactive asthma attacks by being hypnotized by a doctor, who merely got her into a relaxed state and then suggested :"You will now take a calm, slow breath, and each breath will be calmer and slower." Sometimes a coughing reflex or a gagging reflex are triggered by the stressful expectation that they will occur.
