lightheadedness

Jolene awakens suddenly to the sound of the alarm clock, realising that she is late for class, she jumps to her feet and feels light headed and falls back on her bed.

WHat probably caused this reaction?
Why doesnt this happen all the time?

Chances are, it's a head rush. When you jump up, especially when rested, your blood pressure and pulse goes up. You feel like you are going to faint and get lightheaded.

I really try my hardest to rest before I get up.

Cakeisgoodfrostingisbetter said it too.

Just don't get up to fast.

You just got up to quickly.  So,  don't get up that fast again and it probably wont happen.

It could be a vagel responce or hypotension from jumping up like that.  We tell pt's that have been laying down to sit up at the side of the bed before standing so they do not get dizzy and pass out.  If you are worried tell her to check with her dr.

I don't know if this is real, or just a test question, but I will say blood pressure. It doesn't happen all the time because she doesn't just jump up out of a dead sleep all the time.

Did I get it right?
