Any ideas as to what is going on with my joints?

A few years ago I had an un-diagnosed condition where my left knee and right elbow were so painful I could barely brush my hair or walk down stairs. At that time I also developed erythema nodosum on both of my shins and ankles. I saw several doctors but they didn't know what was going on. It went away on its own after about 2 months, but I still feel remnant pain in my knee and elbow occasionally.

Now I don't know if this is related but I am having more joint issues. I woke up with two reddened circular spots as of this morning. One is on the right side of my thumb joint and the other is on the right side of my pointer finger knuckle. There is numbness on that thumb near my fingernail. It has been there since I woke up. The red spots aren't raised or itchy or anything, just normal skin except reddened. It doesn't seem serious so I don't know if it merits a visit to the doctor as of yet.

Any ideas? Thanks.
