Artist with Wrist Pain. Please Help :(

Hello, Ive been trying to find an answer to my symptoms for 3 years, and the doctors dont know after some basic tests and have stopped trying to diagnose it now. I really need to find out whats wrong so I can try and fix it, because so far nothing has helped and its destroying my career.

Here are my symptoms/information:

Tightness in the wrist and arm, mainly the wrist area, all the time, its been like that for 3 years and it getting worse.

I also have constant numbness in the back of my hand.

My fingers are always shaking a little, I feel like its all very unstable.

The symptoms get worse the more I use my wrist for things like drawing or typing or using a mouse, fine motor skills, moving the wrist around a little bit. If I draw small things the symptoms get much worse, if I draw big things, its not so bad. Also playing the piano enhances the pain extremely.

I will also get distinct joint pain in the bone at the base of the wrist, on the pinky side and the thumb side (both sides).

The main thing I hate is the constant tightness in the wrist, and the feeling that my wrist is weak and in pain all the time.

Ive been going to the doctors for 3 years.
They gave me a blood test, and said it wasn't arthritis, and no problems showing in the blood test.

They gave me an X-ray, and they said my bones look fine, no fractures or things like that.

They gave me a nerve conduction test, and said that came back fine and thats its not carpal tunnel.

Then they sent me to physio therapy, and Ive been seeing a physio therapist every 2 weeks for a few months, and no progress. Also I did try physio therapy exercises for a year when I first started getting the symptoms, and it did nothing. I told the doctor this and they said we will try the physio therapy again anyway.
I really want to find out whats wrong with my wrist, as Im an animator and its really tight and painful when Im drawing/animating. I draw for an hour a day, and ti causes these symptoms, so I have to stop drawing so much which is really annoying, and it even hurts if Im typing on a keyboard, using a mouse or playing the piano.

Also I should mention that 7 years ago I fell and fractured both my wrists, and they weren't treated until about 12 hours after it happened. my wrists have never felt as strong as they did before the accident, but its only been 3 years since Ive started to notice the tightness and pain while drawing/other tasks.

Its been going on for 3 years, I had to drop out of university and quit my degree because the pain was too much to bare while drawing, and I worked really hard to get a place on the course.

I need to be able to draw and my wrists not hurt, otherwise my career.

Ive been trying for years to find a solution, and have not got anywhere, Im hoping I can find some help online.

Any ideas about what this could be?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

You are an excellent candidate for Tension Myositis Syndrome (TMS)  because you have no structural damage and all your tests return negative results.
It sounds like a typical RSI (repetitive Strain Injury) case,
but without any test results to confirm anything, you don't have a conventional medical diagnosis, nor a medical treatment, other than symptom/pain management drugs.
So, my suggestion is that you take a serious look at TMS, Tension Myositis  Syndrome Wiki, the free TMS Recovery Program and finally Dr Sarno, who discovered and coined the term TMS.
Dr Sarno is also the author of many books, like “Healing Back Pain”, "The Divided Mind", "The Mindbody Prescription: Healing the Body, Healing the Pain".

I'm a life-long student of TMS, which has served me well beyond my expectations.

Take your time with this. It is a life changing program.

BTW, I have a TMS screening questionnaire, which I
could send to you in a pm, if you're interested.

Best wishes,
Niko
