Back Pain Accompanied With Chest Tightness
About 6 weeks ago I started to get pain in my back. The pain is located under my left scapula (shoulder blade??). It kind of feels like a pinched never type pain. Soon after pain, I started to feel tightness in my chest. It is difficult to explain the tightness. It is not tightness caused by congestion. If feels like my chest is heavy or the muscles are laboring more to suck air into my lungs.
Today the pain in the back feels more like a burning sensation. It also seems like my face is a little swollen.
Any thoughts and help will be appreciated... thanks

If the pain is under the shoulder blade then it could be due to a problem with the stomach (like acidity, gastric reflux, hiatal hernia) or due to pancreatitis, ectopic pregnancy (ruled out in your case as you are a male) or in the chest like angina or heart attack, pericarditis, pleuritis, pneumonia, pulmonary embolus, aortic dissection.
Since you have heaviness in chest, it could be any of the above conditions. It is difficult to diagnose on net. Please do not ignore and consult a doctor ASAP.

my suggestion would be to see your doc and have him listen and/or x ray your chest. although it doesnt seem like its cold or congestion related it could be pleurisy. good luck.
On the left side-your heart, left lung and pancreas (behind stomach on left).
Because you should want to rule out a serious heart problem with your difficulty in breathing and chest tightness, etc., I recommend you have someone take you to an ER and do blood testing to be sure you are not having a heart attack. I'm concerned about the face swelling as well. Please have someone take you in right away!
