Been poorly for 3 months with same symptoms that come and go.

I have been ill with flu like symptoms for over 3 months which get better then deteriorate. There will be times where I feel like I'm getting better then the next day my throat will be in agony and I have this strange weakness, aching pain all over my body. Mostly in my legs. Along with this I have a throbbing headache which gets severe when standing up. Been to doctors numerous times now and they don't seem to think anything is wrong and only just been asked to go for blood tests. Anything like this happened to anyone before?

Hello~I am sorry you are having these miserable symptoms. It sounds to me like you may have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia or Epstein Barr virus. Ask your doctor for some blood work to rule out the EBV. Fibro can certainly cause pain all over and it does, indeed come and go. The headache could be due to low blood pressure when standing up too quickly called Orthostatic Hypotension.

I suggest adding a high potency B complex to your diet and cutting out all sugars, these will help keep your immune system stronger, but, again, as I said, it really sounds like one of the three diseases I mentioned above. I would certainly ask your doctor about them.

You might have glandular fever aka infectious mononucleosis (mono). There are plenty of forums on discussions about mono talking about symptoms including flu like symptoms and muscle pain, labs not showing up positive until months later, symptoms going away and coming back. Not a very nice virus.

The doctors said my glands weren't up at all so she wouldn't test me for it. Just want to find out what this is.

Do you have any fatigue at all? Severe compression of either the Renal Vein (Nutcracker Syndrome) or the Iliac Vein (May-Thurner Syndrome) can cause the problems you’re having. Check out some of these groups on Facebook. A Vascular Surgeon might be a good doctor to go see.

I'm always tired. And I don't know how I'd ever go about seeing one of those.
Either of these conditions can cause Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which SassyLassie mentioned. Several case studies have shown that severe Renal Vein Compression (Nutcracker Syndrome) can cause CFS. Iliac Vein Compression (May-Thurner Syndrome) is a very similar condition that can cause fever, flu like symptoms, fatigue, muscle weakness and leg pain. I was recently diagnosed with this condition and after having a stent placed almost overnight the symptoms started getting better. Members of these groups on Facebook can be very helpful at finding you a doctor that is knowledgeable on these conditions.
