Chronic Musclar Problems

I need some guidance.  I am 59yrs old and over the course of my life, I have had many, many issues with joints, muscles tightness, 2 frozen shoulders - out of nowhere - no known injury,  bursitis, tendonitis, trigger thumb, pinched ulnar nerve and now tmj.

I have had many cortisone shots, taken anti-flammatory drugs, have a high CRP, surgery for DeQuavains T. in right wrist - then 3 months later developed trigger thumb, not once, but twice in same hand and middle finger left hand - same hand with pinched nerve.

I have been tested for RA, Lupus, Connective Tissue (Mom had), MS, Fibromalgia, all NEGATIVE.  My sister read an article about Rice Bodies, but I wouldhave thought the dr. would have seen this when he did the DeQ. surgery.

Just a few days ago, my left arm, from shoulder to elbow, almost became paralazied, to the point I could not raise move my arm without SEVERE pain. This came on me at 11am - and by 3pm I was about out of my mind and on the way to the Orthp. Dr. - He gave me a predisone med. pak, as the last few cortisone shots - I feel, I had a reaction and did not want to go thru that as I had just had a shot for the tigger thumn 4wks earlier.

Any idea what is going on with my body - some type of auto immune situation - what other test can be run that get to another test level that will show some underlying issues?  Something is not right!!

Please any input or guidance!!

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Yes, it will be a good option to consult an autoimmune specialist. Also get your blood levels of Vit D, Vit B12 and electrolytes measures. Possibility of a parathyroid gland disease too should be looked into.
Hope this helps. Take care!

well ask your doctor about the rice bodies you never know and it can't hurt to ask..tell your doctor all these symptoms and maybe he can find or tell you something.. you might have real bad nerve problems and need a muscle relaxer..brittany
