Chronic Pelvic Pain that is now Everyday/All day (and spreading)??

I am 25/F and have had chronic pelvic pain for over 6 years and pain in my lower sternum for over a year with no diagnosis.

My symptoms include:
*sever pain in pelvic/lower abdominal area (every day/all day ranging from cramping to stabbing pain)
*pain during intercourse
*chronic fatigue
*frequent urination
*headaches
*back pain (on and off every week)
*pressure and stabbing pains in lower sternum (on and off every week)
*my periods have become irregular but i stared a BC 7 months ago

I have had blood work, ultra sounds, MRI's, X-Ray's, and a Laparoscopy. All showed normal (except a tiny polyp on my gallbladder). I have tried pain meds, gas/acid reflux meds, etc. and nothing has worked.

I have now been referred to a GI who suggested I try Amitriptyline (25mg one a day at bed time) to help the pain. The thought of an antidepressant, even in a low dose, concerns me and Im not sure I want to take it.
I just want to know whats wrong with me and how to fix it :(

Any suggestions or similar stories?

I know this will sound odd, but all of your symptoms are on the list for Lyme Disease.  Given that you've already been checked out for other more obvious causes, it would be worth it to check for Lyme.  Note: Lots of people who have been sick for over a year test negative, even though most doctors think the tests are perfect. You may have to go see a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) to either eliminate the possibility or to diagnosis and treat it properly.

Go to a chiropractor, they can sometimes help when it seems all else fails. If any part of your skeletal system is off it will put pressure on your spinal cord where all your nerves branch out into other parts of your body, what have you got to lose?

Your doctors probably think you have some type of somatoform disorder, possibly somatization disorder for which anti-depressants are the primary treatment. I wish you the best of luck in find the right treatment.
