Constant dizziness/vertigo style issues for about two years now.

Ok. So about three years ago I started having theses episodes hit me. No specific time place or activity, although the first one I remember was when I was driving. It was a strong vertigo style onset. If I turned my head left or right it was like my vision was in stages. Like instead of smooth vision it was jumping. Real dizzy n light headed. Even vomiting with it. I had to pull over and have someone come get me. After an hour or so it passed but left a bad headache and extreme fatigue. I started having those episodes more and more frequently. It went from maybe once a month to a week to daily until it got so intense I couldn’t function. The “episodes” stopped but left me with a constant symptom. From the time I wake up till I go to bed I’m always dizzy, of balance and really fatigued. I’ve been to a neurologist who saw a spot on the back of my brain and said I either had a stroke or it was something I was born with. After further test he determined I was born with it and it was no concern. I’ve been to several ent’s. Ended up having surgery on both ears. Can’t remember technical term but basically had to have a bone graft in each ear to repair holes in the inner ears. Same surgery but two different procedures. This has been over the last year n a half. But still no fix. Now I’m constantly in a fog and still have strong episodes. I do good to go to work and come home just to lay down.  Now I take klonopin daily. It doesn’t fix the problem. Just helps cope. I have had panic attacks from it. Multitudes of tests. But nothing to determin or fix the issue. Any ideas or help would be appreciated as I don’t know what else to do and I am mentally and physically broken from it. Side notes. I’m 44 yo and approx 10 years ago was diagnosed with ocular phyringial(know I butchered the spelling) style md. But no one acts like that plays any factor into this issue. Thanks in advance.

Hello~It sounds like Meniere disease to me as well. One suggestion, since all your tests are coming back "normal", I would see a chiropractor, you could have some misplaced vertebrae in your neck pinching some nerves, this will DEFINITELY cause dizziness and ringing in ears.

Oh my gosh, what a nightmare for you.  I've had inner ear tube dysfunction (Eustachian tube dysfunction) with dizziness and vertigo as the result.  It was truly horrible and I had great anxiety that another 'attack' was going to start!  I relate to what you are going through.  For my issue, I was desperate to figure it out.  Have you discussed Meniere's disease?  Something to look into.  I also tried and with some success until I got over the hump--  taking psudophedrine.  This is something you have to now ask a pharmacist for.  It's OTC, no script needed, but a sought after ingredient for those cooking their own drugs.  Sigh.  But it used to be in every day products like coadvil, etc.  They just monitor how much you buy and I think limit it.  I only have bought one sleeve in all this time.   But it DOES help with the inner ear issues of dizziness.  REverse ear pops helped me as well--  hold nose, blow and ears will pop.

But I have no idea if this is your source of dizziness/vertigo.  But do look into Meniere's disease.  Let mek now what you think.

Thank you for the info. I have looked at Ménière disease. Ent acts like that’s not the issue. Have seen two different ent’s second was surgeon. Once he did his surgeries it’s like he washed his hands of it. My primary got me in to the Cleveland clinic in July. Said try a fresh start since nobody around here can do anything. It’s hard to go to a specialist because that’s all they can look into is there specialty. I will look into your suggestion. Anything to help. As I speak I’m pulled over trying to shake off an attack on my way to work. Just hard to keep going and feel like nobody really gets it.
