Conversion Disorder

Are there any new treatments for Conversion Disorder? i have suffered with it since childhood.  Just wondering if anything new has been studied or new treatments evolved.

Google "EMDR and Conversion Disorder".  EMDR has been around for over 25 years and there are highly trained, certified professionals all over the world.  Here are links to a couple of websites that specifically talks about Conversion Disorder.

EMDR typically works faster than other therapies and has been studied by Harvard for years.  It is effective with all ages - kids to adults, and even has been shown to be effective with animals.  Some insurance companies even ask if the clinicians are EMDR trained because they know that it means less sessions for them.  You can find a local practitioner by going to the EMDR website, or to Psychology Today and plugging in EMDR.  Make sure to get a certified practitioner and ask if they have experience with Conversion Disorder.

I too have Conversion D/O.  I see no studies or treatments on it, in fact the psychiatrists I have seen in the past do not come out and acknowledge it exists.  I have asked my present doctor if he believes there is this D/O, he replied," Yes" but does not have it in my chart as a DX nor does he even say anything about it.
