Didn't know which forum to use for this question, but its about a bug bite

I was walking my dog today and decided to take off my jacket and noticed this really large, deep red and purple angry looking bruise on my right forearm. In the middle of this bruise was a black stinger looking thing going right into my skin. Actually, it looked more like an appendage of a bug that fell off when it bit me. It was black with a tiny trace of white coloring and what appeared to be curved or a "hook" that was sticking in me. It didn't hurt, but my arm is pretty bruised. It also feels like something is still stuck in there, but I don't want to go poking around it. Some people are telling me to see a doctor, and some just say to wait and see since I don't feel to bad, although in the last hour or so my skin all over is starting to itch. Not even so much by the "bite". It isn't a bee or wasp stinger as I've had those before and they are painful.

Not sure what to do here, I went over my apartment really good and found nothing, and I live in an assisted living apartment complex and the nurse said she has never seen anything like this "stinger". Actually, when I was looking closely at it, it can actually slightly move (flips over) on it's own, which really freaked me out.  Any suggestions, comments, advice?

i think you should go have it checked out.  that is not a normal bite.  and you might get some poisons in your system they need to give you some antibiotics.  and remove anymore of the stinger if there is any left. mandy876
