Digestion Issues? Stomach Cancer?

I have a friend who is in his 50s who has problems with extreme bloating. He has seen many doctors, but he has told me that they mainly tell him to take Gas-X, probiotics and other medications that have not helped him. He has also had a specialist check his insides with a camera and did not find anything problematic. He has basically given up on seeing doctors. His problems seem to get worse after eating greasy and spicy foods. He can not sit down after eating or his gas gets worse. He can not get much sleep because of his bloating problem. He does not have problems with constipation or diarrhea. I can hear him burping constantly after eating. He tells me that he can feel pressure or something when the food starts to come back up. He says he does not get heartburn. What could be his problem?

Sounds like Gastro-Esphageal reflux.

He could use over the counter meds or simply a tea spoon of baking soda diluted in water. Avoid coffee and spicy foods.

Thank you for the reply. He has already told me that he has tried "all" of the counter medications, but they did not help. I am not sure exactly everything he has tried. If GERD is caused by acids, would the reaction of baking soda and the acids cause more gas and cause him to burp more?
