Do I have nail melanoma/blue nail?

It has been about 4 years since I have noticed dark streaks on my nails. They are not as severe as what one would see on a Google Image search, but they exist nonetheless. They have gotten fainter over time and are most prevalent on the thumb finger and large toe. They have disappeared on the middle finger through the pinkie finger.

Additionally, only my index fingers have darkened slightly. This is similar to "blue nails" disease, but again, it is not as severe as online images. Unlike the previous case, the appearance of these nails has not changed in the past 4 years.

Can someone please clarify and attempt a diagnosis of what I may have?

You've noticed this for 4 years - have you seen a doctor?

There are lots of causes for this - some serious, some not, some are just normal variations of skin. Yes, melanoma is a possibility, but that's only one cause.

There is no way someone online can diagnose you. You absolutely need to see a doctor and let them examine you in person, and perhaps run some tests.
