Does anyone know how to stop muscle seizures?

I get terribly painful muscle seizures mainly in my thighs. It will wake me at night and they last for around 8 to 12 minutes. Touching the area makes it much worse. I am completely incapacitated and it hurts so much I can't hardly breathe and I hyperventilate. I went to the ER and they couldn't find anything wrong with me. I'm sure it has to do with dehydration, but I need to know how to stop the seizure somehow instead of waiting in agony for it to release.

Thanks, I've been taking potassium and I am drinking fluids. What I'm looking for is something I can do to make the seizure stop once it starts.  Rubbing, touching, standing make it worse. I'm just stuck till it ends. I feel close to passing out sometimes.

Try magnesium. Calcium contracts and magnesium relaxes the muscles. Magnesium levels are lowest at night. Look for "ate" for types of magnesium. Eg: citrate, glycinate, taurate, chelate. Magnesium oxide is cheap and poorly absorbed.
