Does not sweat

My 17 yr grandson is in the Army National Guard and they have a strenous PE.While running he will get very hot but not sweat. But he has stopped to vomit and afterwards he feels better and continues on with the exercises or running. He went to hid doctor and she said she runs 5 mi. and never breaks a sweat and don't worry about it that some people just don't sweat. Well ,I'm worried and apparently so is his Sargent told him to back to the Doctor and bring in documentation that he has no problem not being able to sweat.
He is healthy other than that. Anybody ever heard of symptoms like this?

Hello,

Thanks for writing in this forum.

Without examination confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but your grandson’s symptoms are suggestive of anhidrosis. Anhidrosis means lack of sweating. It may be due to dehydration, neurologic disorders such as Guillain-Barre syndrome, skin diseases that block sweat glands, congenital disorders as ectodermal dysplasia, due to some drugs, trauma to sweat glands and underactivity of the sympathetic nervous system.
Exact cause can only be found out after thorough physical examination and investigations.

I sincerely advise you to consult a physician and get your grandson evaluated for this.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your grandson is doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
