Thanks for responding to my question. I've been seeing Physician's Assistant re: this and an opthomologist. I'm in a rural area - I don't know if a specialist is nearby, but I'm motivated now to make a call tomorrow and see if I can find somebody.
I appreciate your comment. The stress thing makes a lot of sense. I've not had an injury, but I think I'll talk to my eye doctor about exercises. Thanks again.
Hi,
How are you?
There can be many causes of diplopia like head injury, alcohol intoxication, certain medications like phenytoin, zonisamide, sleep aid like lunesta (zolpidem).
Since you have double vision associated with headache, it seems to be due to migraine.
Migraine can cause a variety of visual disturbances.
Please consult a headache specialist as the exact cause can be identified only after clinical examination. Take care!
A friend of mine gets this, more common when he's stressed out. They think it is a misreading in the brain perhaps due to a head injury years ago. He has some visual exercises to do to try and retrain his brain. I'm not sure they're working all that well.
It's great they've ruled out the worst case scenarios for you.
