Ear Crease Stings?

Tonight I was trying to sleep but for some reason I am unusual hot -even a bit clammy. Now I'm the kind of person who cuddles up, steals all your warmth, then steals the blankets only to wake up wrapped like a burrito! Meaning I'm naturally colder than others.
(Average Person 98.6; Mine is 96.4)
This temp has been my body temp since I was a child. (I've been to the doctor and I'm perfectly healthy.)
My problem is that the crease where my ear attaches to my head is stinging. To be exact, its in the middle (non. The lobe and not on top.)
I ran my temperature (96.8) not too high to suggest a fever but on the warm side.
It does not itch, have bumps or scabs, but stings more when I touch it.
it's just an uncomfortable numbing sting, I can't sleep. :C

Since I'm on the warm side, could this be the start of heat rash since it's the ear I favor to the pillow? If so how do you suggest ways to cool my head as I sleep?

I did go see a house for sale today that wasn't completely finished (partly torn down wall, ect.) Could I have picked up a fungus there? (I've never had anything fungus related before, not even athletes foot!) Would I need to get a prescription if it were fungi related?

Thank You,
DearDaisy

p.s
-If my symptoms change/grow, I will go to a doctor. I wanted to ask here because I have freaked out over a common problem that wasn't common to me and made a bit of a fool of myself #>.<#
