Ear pain and face numbness

For a few weeks now I have had a dull pain in my left ear and when I put on my glasses they seem to add to this pressure. Over the past few days I have experienced intermittent tingling on the left side of my face. Last night I put aloe on my ear (just the outside) and when I went to bed it felt as if my ear was burning. I woke up and my ear is in more pain than before and my left cheek is constantly numb. I had gone to the doctor a week after this all started and had him check my ears and he said my ear canals were fine. I think I may have an ear infection, could it be something else?

It could be Neuralgia or Neuritis.  When I get that, it hurts with even the slightest breeze.  Doctor gave me a prescription for Neurontin (gapapentin) and it helped almost immediately.

well I have TMJ my jaw joint is wearing out and I have arthritis in it.  the pain sometimes is very bad. the doctor put me on Celebrex.  check with your doctor,  your dentist could give you a splint to wear especially at night when you might grit your teeth or clinch them.  mine goes down my neck and shoulder.  good luck.  mandy876

Search TMD and if that might be a good reference source. That has many symptoms and can definitely affect the ear and face. Hope this helps.
