Enlarged node? neck mass

I am a 56-year-old female, postmenopausal.  I have had a neck mass/gland swollen for well over a year.  I finally asked a doctor about it and we did an ultrasound, which was unremarkable.  This was after a two-week course of antibiotics to rule out an inflammatory process.  It is of noticeable size (don't know measurements), and visible, right under my jaw.  My Dr referred me (her idea completely - I thought all was good after negative ultrasound) ASAP to ENT, who saw me quickly, and has rapidly scheduled a CT scan in a couple of days and most likely will be performing a fine needle biopsy/aspirate the same day.

The mass/gland is nontender most of the time, but I have noticed in the last couple of days some tenderness and what feels like a mass above the lower mass.  Not sure if this is separate or simply overlying.

I do have night sweats, but I attributed this to menopause...wake up wet in some areas of neck and chest/legs.  I also have noted itching of feet, often around my midsection/back and around armpits (thought maybe I have a reaction to some deodorants, but no rash/redness).

Am I over-worrying? my thoughts/fears are lymphoma or ENT carcinoma.  Hoping it's absolutely nothing, of course.

Any thoughts?

over worrying will cause night sweats. you have every right to be worried but hang in there. it could be a simple growth. if its been there a year chances are, you are going to be alright. good luck
