Face Stiffness

Hi, Four years ago I startd to experience stifness in the right hand side of my face. My entire right side is very stiff. My right eyebrow dropped, and eye lid became very stiff to open and close. I found as a year went on, I got stifness in my cheek slowing moving down to the right hand side of my neck. My jaw is very stiff, and I find it difficuly to open my mouth fully.I am not seeing my right upper lip moving to one side. As the stifness has increased what can this be? and is there away to cure it? Thanks.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Even though it is persisting for so long, Bell’s palsy should be looked into. It can even be TMJ affecting nerve compression. There is definitely some compression on facial nerve. It can also be benign intracranial hypertension with pressure on facial nerve (but less likely as you do not have headaches). Multiple sclerosis is another possibility. Please consult a neurologist. Take care!

I am not sure what this could be.  Maybe a nerve problem with your cranial nerves.  You need to see your PCP.  He might refer you to a neurologist.  This is not normal so please don't continue to ignore these symptoms.
