Foot injury, cant see a doctor

On memorial day I jumped in the shallow part of my concrete pool and landed hard on the heel of my right foot.  Its now July 6th and when I walk I still feel some mild pain and discomfort.  My mother has not and will not take me to see a doctor (I am 17) and tells me to stop whining.  I am pretty tolerant to paint,  and now that it has been 2 months and the injury has still not healed, I am really begining to worry.  It felt good a few days ago, so I thought maybe i could finally start running again.  After I ran it really hurt, so now its back to moping around the house instead of playing outside like I should be.   I am not sure if I fractured the bone or if I bruised it.  I have tried my best to keep off the foot, but I have to walk to work and other places so it is difficult.   Any advice or opinions would be appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
I am sure your mother will take you and if not, go with another elder at home. You need to see a doctor. You can wear support bandage for sprains available at most pharmacists. Also you can dip your foot in warm water for 10-15 minutes twice a day. Anti-inflammatory drugs will also help. All said and done, even with all this treatment, it is important to get a X-ray.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Why can't you see a doctor or go to hospital. Your health is important. It sounds like a fracture of heel, very painful. Ignore mother and make the appointment yourself. At 17 and working you should be making your own decisions.

There is a good chance you have a chip fracture.

Usually these things heal by themselves (the bright side), but I haven't seen your x-ray.

You need to go to a physician, M.D. type, orthopedic specialty, today, with ot without the authorization of your mother. If you go to an emergency room they will at the least take a film.

This should be on your list of "things to do".

There is always a "missing piece" to mother-daughter relationships, so I won't comment on your mommy, but she deserves the "bad judgement award" for 2010.

as a mother myself i cant believe that yours wont take you for a check up,cant you go to see someone on your own? if not maybe another relative or a family friend,it could be something small at the moment, but could be made worse if not investigated properly
