General Health

I am hoping to find help here for my sister who lives in Europe and has been sick since March. In March she started having problems with her bladder. Constant urge to urinate with and without pain. She than started to vomit and diarrhea. The doc said you have the flue and sent her home. The vomiting and diarrhea for about 2 weeks stopped but the bladder problem not. Again she was told flue and several times thereafter. I ask her how many flues can you have? In May they finally checked her urine and said we don,t see anything but here are antibiotics. This however did not explain her vomiting and diarrhea which she had twice a month for a couple of days. The just gave her anti-nausea meds. She was sent to a urologist who again found nothing. The end of may she was so bad that she was taken to the hospital where some blood work, colonoscopy, stool samples, urin work and they scoped her stomach. Also did ct scan and xray of stomach End result was bladder infection and she was told that she had no good or bad bacterias in her intestine. They send her home with antibiotics and said thats all we can do for you. Bottom line she continues to get sicker and her PCP is shaking his shoulders. Her OB is still finding blood in her urine with no answers. She is sent from doc to doc and she gets no diagnosis because there are so many doctors involved and the DO NOT talk to each other. I am hoping that there is someone out there (not that I wish this on anyone) with the same symtoms and has gotten help. I am afraid that she will not get better.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
With nausea, vomiting, blood in urine, two things should be investigated. One is low Vit B12 and the other endometriosis. Overnight sample of urine should be tested by culture and sensitivity to see which organism is causing the infection and which antibiotic will help. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Thank you for your reply. I will forward this and see if any of the docs will listen. With the socialized medicine it will not be easy to make them listen unless you have a blank check.
