I guess it won't hurt to ask again cause the antidepressants are not really working how I was hoping they would and to behonest, I don't feel any different. I am still constantly sore, tired and feeling nautious :(
get a second opinion for Chronic fatigue syndrome/Me
i am now on a course of antidepressents and have been referred to a councellor but not able to see them until April. I have also started having anxiety attacks, they have to be the scariest things that have happened to me. Not too sure if the antidepressants are working to be honest. Its a long dark tunnel and its hard to believe that I am going to get better. Some days are better than others but I just hope that one day I will get there!!
My doctor has referred me to a rheumatology specialist for my constant joint and muscle pain but inly God knows if something is actually going to come of it as I have been in this position since I was 16. It doesn't exactly help that the factors triggering my stress don't seem to be going away ie my family life.
what's your position canadaguy273?
i think you could be right. i got promoted to a stressful job round about then and have had problems with my family. you have made me realise that not once has my gp asked if i am stressed/depressed. seeing her again this week so will bring this up. thanks for your advice :)
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Extreme fatigue could be due to menopause/hormonal imbalance of PCOD/low testosterone in males, anemia, diabetes, hypothyroidism, or due to kidney or liver problems. Another possibility is sleep disturbances (like sleep apnea, imbalance of rapid eye and non rapid eye movement sleep etc.). You may sleep your customary 7-8 hours and yet feel fatigued. You need sleep studies to rule this out. Other possibilities are chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, low Vit b12, low iron, low calcium, sodium and potassium. Hyperthyroidism too causes increased sweating and tiredness. Postviral fatigue syndrome is another possibility. Persisting EBV infection or mono can also be the cause. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. Take care!
Could it be anxiety/depression?
