Has anyone ever had pain on one side of throat that worsens when bending over?

I have a soreness on the right side of my throat that seems to worsen when bending over or pressing on upper abdomen. This has been going on and off for a few years. My doctor told me it's from acid reflux. I am afraid i have some kind of cancer. Has anyone ever experienced something similar?

It could very well be acid reflux causing the soreness.
Have you had an endoscopy to rule it in or out?
It can also reveal if there is anything else to be concerned about.

No I haven’t. I’m too scared :/
Worrying at home isn't going to give you an answer, although I do understand your fear.
If it were good news, that it's a muscular spasm or strictures, easily fixed, or acid reflux easily managed, you would be relieved, and ask yourself why you waited so long when you could have been feeling better months ago.
On the minuscule chance that there was something more serious, waiting only serves to worsen the problem, and delay early or even preventative treatment.
A gastroenterologist can address your concerns, reassure you, and treat you if need be.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I am going to try to work up the nerve to call tomorrow.
Good luck Sheri. I know it's hard when you are worried, but waiting only allows  things to worsen.
I faced three potential cancer diagnosis at one time...suspicious lumps in my thyroid, and possible cancer in both breasts,  suspected colon cancer after positive polyps during a colonoscopy, and unexplained weight loss and bruising.
I wanted to run in the opposite direction, as far and as fast as possible.
Instead, I followed the doctors orders, had two thyroid biopsies, two breast needle biopsies, and gastro redo, and further testing. It was the longest month of my life, undergoing all these tests and waiting for results...finally 6.5 weeks after it started, I got the all clear. They removed the malignant polyps, the thyroid nodes were biopsied and removed, and the breast biopsies were clear..
So, take a breath, believe it will be okay, and do what you need to do to take care of you.
Wow! That must have been so scary for you. I am so happy that it all worked out for the good. I have such severe health anxiety that even going for routine check ups leaves me a mess for weeks. I truly appreciate your kind and caring words. Best wishes for continued good health.
Thank You Sherrie. I think we can all empathize with health concerns, and worrying that something really bad may come out.
The thing is, is that if something does turn up, the earlier it is discovered, the better the chances to treat, and catch it early.
That's what I remind myself of, especially after my scares. I could choose to avoid going back, after all that. It literally scared the heck out of my doctor, and myself. The looks on the faces of the staff at the testing scared me..but if I had not gone through all of it, we never would have caught those cancerous polyps and it would have spread. The other areas may have had the chance to also become malignant. Now, they don't.
Best wishes for you Sherrie. It's going to be okay.
