Has anyone experienced or understand this jolting and tensing of muscles?

I find I am exessivly twitchy and jolty when I begin relaxing. It becomes rather frustrating when I a      trying to cuddle with or simply sit on the couch with my fiancé. Almost every time I sit down to relax with him the twitching will begin. Usually it's mainly limb twitches, but sometimes like tonight it is so much more. I can physically feel it on the top of my head. It feels like an energy (though I don't think electrical) surging through my brain/head then entire body causing me to jolt and tense resulting to fetal position as it seems all my muscles tense and jolt. I try to contain it as I find it rather embarrassing, but it is very hard to do. The only thing I have found that seems to work is to simply fall asleep in order to cause my whole body to calm. My fiancé reasures me he doesn't mind and even thinks it's cute aside from how much it bothers me. But it really is frustrating.

Does anyone relate to this or know what could be causing this jolting and tensing of muscles? My Fiancé asked me I've ever been tested for ADHD. As a child I was diagnosed with ADD, but I am not seeing anything in my research linking ADHD to the feeling I am describing. I've not found anything in my research to relate to this.
