Help Me Please I'm Lossing Hope

7/19/08
Hi My name is Fernanda I'm 18 and I'm very scared and no one seems to be able to give me hope. I have severe pain in my left knee and it seems to be spreading down my chin and moving to mid thigh. And my left leg seems to be sensitive to my cloths, water, wind it feels very irratated when anything touches it (just the left leg). This started about two years ago I'm a dancer and it started when I toke up ballet and strenuous work outs, but I never had an injury I noticed when I turned my knees at angles it would be servely irratated and with years its gotten worse to the point that I can't walk, sit, stand let alone go back to my passion dancing and being active. I've been told many things such as I should prepare to be in a wheelchair (that left me a mess), that I have torn miniscus, then arthitis. I've done physical therapy twice didn't really help, I've had three MRI done two on the knee, one on the thigh everthing came back normal. I've had a bone scan as well normal, and seen two orthopedics who ruled out that this has nothing to do with my bones. I recently saw a nuerologist for the first time (who really doesn't give me much hope), he sent me to have an EMG on my leg and an MRI done on back (July 24th, 2008) but told me that they will probably will come back normal and if so he would send me to Seattle for God knows what so I'm currently on Tegretol which does NOTHING...I spend hours on this web site which I thank God for, everyone is this community gives me hope and my biggest wish is to go back to dancing and being the active person I once was. So PLEASE if anyone can give me hope I would so appreciate it. GOD BLESS

Hey Ferny, Me again. I'v been reading all over the place and it sounds like you've really injured your knee somehow. I searched just about every knee injury possible and they all seem to have similar symptoms so i cant really try to help you pin point anything there. However the pain of a knee injury can spread just like yours has over time according to what I'v read on some of the sites. But im sure your gonna be alright though Fernanda, Just go easy on yourself, and dont lose hope. Anyway......Why i was at it a while ago i also looked up things that might help with the pain, From what i read taking apple cider vinigar every day is spose to help with pain, and of course the Weleda arnica oil i told you about is awsome. I found this place too which had some info you may want to read over (http://www.painchannel.com/knee-pain/symptoms.shtml) I dont know every bit of how you feel, but it may be helpful. Anyhow i wish i could help you out more but all i can do is toss ideas your way and help you find info. I hope you're back on your feet and feelin better soon.

Whats up Fernanda. Wow that *****....Your so young and pretty...I really wish i could help you more than i can. I too almost lost what i love to do back when i was 17 (MX racing). I wrecked my cr250 in a motocross race and almost broke my back, I really hurt it bad though and could'nt ride for a few months. I used this stuff called Weleda Arnica oil, It helps big time with pain and inflamation. I now use it every time i get roughed up on the track or whatever.  I would recommend at least trying it to see if it helps. Just make sure you get the oil and not the gel cause i got some of the gel one time and its not as good. I hope this at least helps you somewhat, I'll try to look around and see if i can find out anything else that could possibly help you. 18 is way to young to be chillin in a wheel chair. I hope your leg gets better, Im sure it will, ya just gotta maintain the hope even when things seem hopeless.
