I have a lung congestion, every morning when I wake up I cough & vomit with a strong salty taste in my throat. I had this salty taste for a long time, before I got the lung congestion.

Hello~Post-nasal drip from a sinus infection or allergies could also be to blame. The mucus from your nose can build up in the back of your throat, If it mixes with the saliva in your mouth, it can cause a salty taste. I have read that this strange sensation is actually quite common.

Here are some other reasons for having the salty taste:
Dry mouth
Dehydration
Oral bleeding
Oral infection
Acid or bile reflux
Nutritional deficiency=Taking a good, high potency B vitamin will help as will extra Vitamin C.
If it continues, I would see either your dentist or GP.

I hope you feel better soon.

I just started to drink more water than usual, now I do not have too much salty taste in my throat, but I still cough. I been eating 2 apple bananas in the morning & 1 at night only when I get hungry. So I think I'm going to solve my own problem, oh I been taking vitamins since I was 17, I'm now 68, it includes vitamin B complex, B-12, B-6,etc.
