I suspect I have bronchitis, but i have read antibiotics wont help

What started as a sore throat has affected my lungs, difficulty breathing,(mainly exhaling)(raspy sound in throat when exhaling) coughing up rust, white and yellow mucus.  I start to feel better, and then bam it gets worse. now it feels like there is gross mucus trapped in my lungs, & i dont know how to get it out.  Sometimes after i cough, the phlegm is so bad it makes me sick to my stomach.  I dont want to go to Dr. to be told its just a virus.  Any suggestions to help get mucus out of lungs?
I dont think its pnumonia , theres not a noticable fever. Also feels like i might have a sinus infection now, blood and facial pain.

I suggest you should really go see your doctor, cause that's what doctors are for. But drinking fresh fruit juice like orange juice can help get your phlegm out easier especially when it's very thick and green/yellow. Drink water and don't forget to pray. :) hope this helps. I would love to say a prayer for your health :'D

I believe that you do indeed have an infection going on. You don't mention whether you are a smoker or not, but if you are, it's best to see the MD and possibly get a chest x-ray or CT done as well to rule out pneumonia or other pathology.  You don't always have to have a fever with pneumonia.  The fact that you have rust colored sputum/phlegm makes me believe it's more than just a bronchitis, which typically is yellow-greenish in color.   Please get yourself seen soon for treatment!  Good luck!

As you have been coughing up "rust, white and yellow mucus", you should make an urgent appointment to see your doctor to check your throat and lungs.

By what you describe it is highly likely that you have an infection.  You are right the doctor will not prescribe for a viral infection, but he will decide and as you have had it for a while and is now dropped onto your lungs, it is highly likely that this is a bacterial infection.

Drink plenty of warm fluids, chicken soup, honey and freshly squeezed lemon juice and any other warm drinks you like.  Keep off milky drinks as these encourage mucus formation.

To help you to loosen up the mucus for you to be able to cough it up better and to unblock your sinus passages do steam inhalations.

Boil up a kettleful of water and pour this into a bowl taking care not to get scalded.  Put some Vick or Olbas oil or any menthol oil that you like.  Bend your head over the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel.  Breathe in the steam through your nose and out through your mouth.  Do this for a duration of 10 minutes and for 4 times a day if you can.

But still do make an appointment to get checked out by your doctor.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
