23, female--- Earlier this week I had a strange sudden onset of nausea and very fast heart rate, I had felt dizzy all day prior but thought it was just from standing. My fast heart rate made me feel weird enough to go to the ER. There they decided it was probably from caffeine, and I had an EKG done which showed some tachycardia going on. Laying on the bed I had 137 bpm, that eventually lowered to around 108 mostly. They gave me saline, anti nausea, and anti anxiety in an IV.
A couple days went by and I didn't drink any caffeine or intake any medication, I decided to put on my polar heart rate monitor I use for exercising. When I would lay in bed, my heart rate would drop to like 70-80 bpm. But upon sitting or almost any movement, it would jump up to over 100. If I stood up and walked around it had gone to 145. For me I thought this was very unusual since I know I used to have to really exercise to get my heart up that high. And I could feel it. I also felt really nauseous randomly throughout the day and upon waking up, burping seemed to ease that feeling. And due to that I haven't eaten very much. No where near normal, as I normally try to eat every 2-3 hours.
I didn't like it at all and it was very concerning, I went to the doctor who said I sounded dehydrated. My thyroid tests were normal, my blood was normal, just slightly elevated WBC count which would make her think I was starting to get something when I went to the ER but it was days later by then and I wasn't sick. And my sodium was low so she thought I was probably dehydrated. She didn't seem too alarmed at the increase in pulse upon moving and standing, but said they'd have me wear a holter monitor next week to see. I was given some anti nausea pills as well.
The night before I went to the doctors I felt a little heartburn like feeling, but it went away, So I just asked if I could take pepcid Ac. Last night I got it much more, two pepcid AC max strengths didn't really take it away. It just kind of is like a lingering ache. It goes away and comes back. Pepcid always works for me usually.
Yesterday I also started to get some more intense shortness of breath ordeals. I am used to randomly getting shortness of breath where I find it hard to fully get a good, full, deep breath when drinking coffee or consuming caffeine. Which I did mention to the ER doctor, but she obviously thought it was entirely only related to caffeine, which I did too at the time. However, beyond that it's minimal. Yesterday and today I got a scary almost short breath episode. It felt like a lump was in my throat where my neck meets my collar bone area, I was having trouble getting that good breath, but forcing a yawn helped me get it. Toward the end of the attempted deep breaths i'd hear a short wheeze type sound, just at the end. Im not sure if it's relevant, but my right collar bone area ached at that time. I've also always been an overly cold person (I dont see iron checked on the bloodwork, so idk if its that, however carbon dioxide is low). A little bit later, about a half hour or so, I started to get that heartburny feeling again.
I did drink a good 64 oz of water yesterday, and my pulse upon standing now and moving seems to go to a max of 125-130 today. I also havent really gotten dizzy since the day earlier in the week that I went to the ER.
It's all so sporadic, scary, and I feel like I sound like a complete whacko for my random symptoms that are appearing and freaking me out. At the points that I have trouble getting a good breath, I almost want to go back to the ER but it subsides mostly, I still have random trouble getting a deep breath but the lump in the throat feeling isn't there, so it doesn't seem as serious. The doctor's office isn't open until Monday. Does anyone have any idea of what this could be?
No family history of any heart problems, except high blood pressure. My grandmother has COPD but I assume thats from her life of smoking. Also, I have never really had any serious diseases or problems in my life so far, I usually don't go to the doctors much at all.
