Severe sickness after river water

Hi,
I went to the river yesterday for a swim with some friends.
When i jumped in i accidentally took in a mouthful of river water. Since this morning i have had stomach cramps and about an hour ago i was sick, now every 5-10 minutes i get a cramp and i vomit.

Now i am vomiting nothing and just 'Dry heaving'

What should i do?

Hi
You could be having persisting infection of the lower gut. Try any lactobacillus preparation, plenty of water, youghurt and over the counter antacid. If symptoms persist consult your PCP.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage.  Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.

I have not been sick since that night, and i dont feel the cramps any more, however, i do feel a unusual sensation that i cant explain properly towards the lower part of my stomach and higher intestines.

I feel this is worse in the morning and at night, and about 5 minutes after eating/drinking and i have felt rather tired during the day?

Could i have caused some problems when i was "dry Wretching"??
or could it be some sort of infection caused by the water?

Thanks
Dan
