Mid back pain when i arch my back and it radiates through to my chest area.

Mid back pain when i arch my back and it radiates through to my chest area. I feel it more on the right side. My ribs are also sore when i touch them and my lats are sore as well. What could it be? I'm afraid i have a cancerous tumor or something. It has been going on for 3 months now.

Hello and welcome to the forum.  Your symptoms are concerning.  While they can be nothing, radiating pain in the chest area should be evaluated by a medical professional as soon as possible. Since you have been having this pain for three months, please see a doctor as soon as possible for evaluation.

Radiating chest pain that involves the back and ribs can be caused by many things.  This article outlines that. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/chest-pain/symptoms-causes/syc-20370838  Clearly, ruling out a cardiovascular origin is important.  Angina, for example, can cause this type of chronic issue. Angina is the term for chest pain caused by poor blood flow to the heart. This is often caused by the buildup of thick plaques on the inner walls of the arteries that carry blood to your heart. These plaques narrow the arteries and restrict the heart's blood supply, particularly during exertion.  Obviously if you have any other symptoms appear, you should immediately be evaluated for a heart attack.

Other common causes involve things gastrointestinal related such as Gerd.  Gerd doesn't always follow a set pattern and you may be unaware you have it if you aren't tasting or feeling the reflux.

Issues with muscles or bones can cause this type of pain.

Issues with the lungs as well.

And lastly, our mind is an amazing thing and can cause psychosomatic symptoms that we truly feel but are not caused by a condition other than our mental health.

Please look at the article but also, it is really important that you discuss this with your doctor.  Please let us know as soon as possible how it goes and give us an update.

I have had an xray of my back and lungs..no problems were found. I had an echo of my heart. I haven't gotten the results yet but they told me i dont need to worry. I believe its muscular because it only hurts when i move certain ways.
I should also add that it doesn't actually go through to my chest area but i can tell by pushing on my chest muscles where in my back it hurts
