My knee hurt when I straighten my leg, but the MRI results are negative.

My right knee hurts when it straighten sometimes. So the pain was sudden, I was standing and then suddenly I cant stand with my right leg because it was too painful, and when I try to straighten it, it was really hurt. But when I sit down or bend my leg, it wasn't hurt at all. But I still can't walk or stand because I have to straighten my leg when I walk. The pain wasn't specific in any areas, it just hurt in every parts of my knee. So I went to several doctors, the check it with ultrasound and everyone said that my knees are okay. after a couple of day consuming anti-afflimation that my doctor prescribe me, the pain was gone. But several weeks later, the pain came back and I didn't do hard exercise, or too much walking. So I went and visit this one doctor and she said that she saw an inflammation on my knee through the ultrasound, and she said that maybe it was a meniscus tear. then, she told me to do an MRI, and i did. But the result came back negative. After the MRI, I have another ultrasound and she said that in the upper knee side, there was a lot of fluid probably 2 cm and the normal one should be 0,5 cm. I don't really understand what fluid it is. But she said it probably the cause. Does anyone have any idea what's going on with my right knee?

By the way, i play fencing 6 years ago and I quit playing 2 years ago. I assume that the pain was from an injury when I play fencing, but the pain started after I quit fencing, so I'm not so sure. And i also have scoliosis, and that probably effects my right leg being longer than my left leg.

thank you.

Hello~I think this is something that a chiropractor could help with. You might have a dislocation in your hip or lower back. The chiro will take an x-ray or two, study them, and then go over the results with you. Quite possibly after a few adjustments, you just start to feel better.

Let's consider a simple thing, aurrelafra. Is it possible that the knee joint just needs to be popped back into place? If it is slightly out of place, the ultrasound and MRI possibly wouldn't see that, but a plain x-ray would.

Take a quick look here at this knee (which is slightly out of place but not a severe dislocation) getting popped back in:

It is sometimes possible that you can do it yourself by experimenting.

If your scoliosis is from a 'Connective Tissue Disorder', then having joints that are susceptible to going out of place (subluxation) is even more likely.

"I don't really understand what fluid it is."
That's likely just what normally occurs from inflammation, just like when an ankle swells up from getting sprained.
