Mystery Diagnosis Help Please Any Ideas?

I've been having alot of different unsual symptoms going on with my body since 2 years ago when i developed an enlarged lymph node on my right side of neck. Its been enlarged for 2 years and since then ive seen one specialist he said it was reinactivated. Now the other day i went back to the doctors for too many symptoms and the enlarged lymph node has always been a concern of mine.So he set me back up with that specialist for the second time now and he said its not lymphoma cuz lymphoma would be a larger node.hmm idk..but its painless..but so a few days ago he set me up wiht a CAT scan the results dint come back yet tho. My doctor may seem to think im a hypochondriac. I know that i am bipolar and may have an oncoming sleep disorder. I have major depression/anxiety. Im on Zoloft for that.and on Bactrim(for my acne) which helps.but lately i feel as if the Zoloft (been taking for a month use to take all time now started it back up for a month and it dont  seem to be helping it seems to be making me worse) hmm idk..
but before taking any of the meds.well all of the symptoms ive been getting for the past year or two. have been wierd.

Consider having your thyroid checked, an MRI of the brain), an ANA titer to rule out autoimmune conditions and lyme disease testing. Also consider asking your physician about fibro/CFS.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

From the symptoms that you described, the first possibility that comes to my mind is thyroid disorder. The second possibility that crosses my mind is PCOS(polycystic ovarian disease).I would advise you to consult an endocrinologist and get your thyroid levels and hormone levels as well as an ultrasound uterus to confirm the diagnosis.

For the lymph node swelling,it is usually caused by a viral or bacterial infection. Other causes include allergic reactions, arthritis, cancer, metabolic diseases, and an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). To confirm the cause, you should get a FNAC lymph node to confirm the diagnosis.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.Kind regards.

I'd have your thyroid and adrenals, as well as your female hormones (estrogen, lutenizing hormone, etc.) checked. Your weight and temperature symptoms, among others, sound very hormonally-based.

Why thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate it lots. It really helps me on here when people tell me some input of their opinion. Sorry to hear about your incident. Well actually ive never had and routine CBC's. Nothing else was done to check up on the lymph node, no tests were ordered.nothing so thats why it is major concernt o me. but ill get back to you on my updates like i recently had a CAT scan done.no results yet, and my doctor made an appointment with a sleep specialist and i have to get another test in conclusion to the Abnormal Pap Smear, called a Coloscopy. so ill let you know if youd how they all turn out. And thanks very much for the reply once again. Best wishes go out to you.

It is not unusual to be considered a hypochondriac when one is convinced something is wrong but it hasn't yet been discovered. I had that happen to me once, then when the doctor ordered some tests just to cover his behind, it was discovered I have an autoimmune condition which was damaging my lungs. I hope he felt bad about how badly he talked to me and treated me, but I doubt it.

When one is known to be bipolar, their symptoms can be dismissed prematurely just because being bipolar does cause overthinking at times. Ideally the bipolar person is surrounded by those they trust who can give honest feedback, and even advocate if need be. After all, even hypochondriacs develop health issues. It is good for you to be in tune with your body and know when something isn't making sense to you.

About the lymph node - A routine CBC with differential would have likely revealed indicators if lymphoma was present, also mono. I would imagine that was done when you first noticed the node. There are other things like cat scratch fever that can cause enlarged nodes. And your ear aches and sore throats could be a factor.

Some of your symptoms could be side effects of meds, others from your sleep issues. Some just a part of being bipolar. Sure hope you get proper evaluation and treatment for diagnosed issues so you can dismiss the other things and enjoy the degree of heath you have. Best wishes.
