My husband had a major headache for 4 days straight, and he did not want to take meds because he said its cause he was tired and all of the sudden yesterday he started to have a major gradual severe joint pain that went down his arms and now today the pain is on his legs specially knees and the headache came back! Since today is a holiday there is no doctors around....but i am wondering what this may be. If you know please help!

Hi patricia2005, i am babygirl460hdz i suffer from migraines and i also get headaches what you might do to help his head and joint pains is to apply some green alcohol to his joint and to tha back of his neck were tha dip is and apply on his temples and on his forehead a little bit of vapor rud (vicks) also put him in a room were there is no light or sound cuz this usually makes it worse. i am sorry i could not help you more but just try it and i hope it works so your husband get some type of relif from his pain. i will be praying for you and your husband to felling better. if you need to talk to some one i am always here my god bless and GOOD LUCK with your hubby!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If it is possible, the first thing to do is get his blood pressure checked. It could be high. It is difficult to diagnose the cause of headaches on net. Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors, high blood pressure, tension headaches, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache can cause similar symptoms.
Since your husband has developed other joint pains, rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis, hypothyroidism etc needs to be ruled out. If anything is detected, then probably the headache is due to pinched nerve from involvement of joints of spine.
Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral. Meanwhile he can take a painkiller but I would advise you to consult a doctor first to rule out high BP.
Take care!
