Spitting up the reddish brown - especially if this is phlegm, is not good and you should see a doctor or go to the ER urgently.  The yellow may be a sign of a bacterial or viral infection.

With it clinging to your throat, this will be what is called "post nasal drip".  As a home remedy to help clear up all your passages, do steam inhalations.

To do a steam inhalation, boil up a kettleful of water and pour this into a bowl, taking care not to get scalded.  Put some Vick or Olbas oil or a few drops of any menthol oil into the water.  Bend your head over the bowl and cover your head and the bowl with a towel.  Breathe in the steam through your nose and out through your mouth.  Do this for a duration of about 10 minutes and try and do this 4 times a day.  This will help to clear up any blocked sinus, tubes and Eustachian tube (this is the tube that links the ear to the throat).

On the other hand as it happens only when you bend, it is likely to be gastric juices and this is to do with acid reflux.

Only bend your knees and keep your back straight when you want to pick something up.  You can purchase stomach medications from the pharmacy without a prescription if you feel this is a gastric issue.

If you feel any tightness or pain in your chest, have a problem with your breathing, you must seek medical attention urgently.   In fact if it is the  mucus is that is reddish brown and not bile (sometimes it can be discoloured, especially if you drink coffee), you should seek medical attention urgently.

You would have more money in your pocket if you did not buy your ciggs.  It is your choice, but each cigarette contains 92 carcinogens.  Not all old people get cancer of the lungs.  Some are lucky and smoke for years and have no problems, some are not so fortunate.

If you do wish to stop smoking, cut down gradually so that you won't notice so much.  Nicotine is addictive, so if you do want to stop smoking, do it gradually.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

This could be strep throat! (bad throat infection) I used to suffer with this for years! does it hurt to swallow? the taste was blood & pus disgusting taste & gives you bad breath as you can imagine. You could try to gargle with cooled down boiled water & salt, but if it is strep throat this will not solve the problem, antibiotics would be the only solution & suck on strepsils (throat lozenges) this dulls the pain a tad. you could even have an infection in your nasal/ear passage or sinus's this can lead to the leak of fluid into your throat! otherwise I'm not sure what it is, I would say you have no choice but to visit the doctors.
