Need help, Many problems, Doctor not helping

Since before Christmas, I've been having stomach problems. Uncentralized pain, frequent diarrhea, mucus in stool.
At first it was occasional light pain, barely noticeable, but as time went on it got worse. It got to the point where it was frequent, often strong pain, finally centralizing in the center of my lower abdomen (still uncentralized sometimes).
I was having diarrhea up to 7 times a day, often with mucus in it. Also lots of gas. Nausea was present sometimes as well.

Now its changed, the pain remains, but diarrhea is less frequent, as is gas. Both are less foul then before.
That would seem good, but symptoms did not disappear, just changed. Now i get recurring fever, sweating,  severe fatigue (usually i'm exhausted by noon), and im having problems concentrating and remembering. Nausea and diarrhea are less frequent, but still present (and still causing problems). My stomach seems to be rumbling alot. I should also note some stiffness, and decline in motor skills (particularly walking), but not overly significant. Stiffness may be from me stopping exercising, im too tired to do that.

I have gone to my doctor, probably first 2 months ago. He ordered occult blood test, urine test, and blood test. None of the tests showed anything unusual. He finally did something recently, after seeing (from a different blood test) my white blood cell count (Neutrophil) was elevated..
Upon seeing this, he ordered a bacteria and parasite stool test. We never got a call, so we assume it was negative. We called him, but he went on vacation. Hes still not back.

I'm 16, and trying to get into university. Sometimes I miss school because of this, either I feel too bad to go, or I have doctors appointment. This isn't good, but whats more effecting me is the concentration problems and fatigue. I'm falling behind and cant catch up because I cant focus, sometimes cant remember, and am too tired to do extra work. My personal life is also suffering from the complete lack of energy.

Does anyone know what this is, or sounds like? i'm not sure how long my doctors going to take to get anything done. I'm also not sure how much longer I can have problems in school without this becoming a really big problem. Its also interfering with pretty much my whole life. If anyone has any idea what this is, or what it could be, any input at all is greatly appreciated. Although this seems physical, there is a possibility of mental illness, so if this could possibly be caused by a mental problem, that would be appreciated input too. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Hi
Thanks for keeping me posted!
Well, they were the possibilities. The most likely is irritable bowel syndrome and gluten intolerance. Both will cause weight loss after a very long period as the person can assimilate what he eats to some extent.
Please discuss this with your doctor. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

The thing I don't understand is there is no blood  in my stool, and I am not losing weight. I had looked at those, but they  cause weight loss, and ulcerative colitis causes blood in stool.

Does that change anything?

Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
I read through your post very carefully and based on that I feel that you are possibly suffering from Celiac Disease/Ulcerative Colitis/Irritable Bowel Syndrome. These are inflammatory diseases hence the white blood cell count can increase. All these result in tender abdomen, loose stool or loose stools alternating with constipation, gas, abdominal distention, cramps etc. I would strongly recommend you to see a gastroenterologist (a specialist who looks after the diseases of our digestive system). Maybe your physician can recommend someone. Shortness of breath, fatigue, cold sweats, and fast heart rate are often present due to associated anemia and nutritional deficiencies. Parasites in the gut like threadworm, tape worm, giardiasis etc can behave this way.

A number of times a gastroenterologist is able to diagnose these conditions by clinical examination and detailed medical history. Blood tests to rule out anemia, stool test to look for white blood cells, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy etc are used to diagnose ulcerative colitis. Braium meal and follow through, endoscopy etc are done to rule out GERD, Crohn’s disease etc. Irritable bowel syndrome is diagnosed by elimination of other causes. Gluten is a complex protein present in four main grains---wheat, rye, barley and oats. If you have gluten intolerance, then you probably have celiac disease or Non Celiac gluten sensitivity. There are blood tests called celiac test to detect gluten intolerance.

Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor and discuss this. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
