Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The pain in the eye can be due to ocular or ophthalmic migraine, glaucoma, stye, sinusitis, eye infections, eye strain as is seen in refractive errors (if you cannot see properly and need spectacles). Please consult an eye specialist. Take care!
If this happened to me, I would call it a migraine and go back to bed... or make everyone around me as miserable as possible until it stopped. But I've never had a migraine last for longer than a day, tops.
Is there anything in your eye? Can you see out of it okay? Even if there's not a twig sticking out of your pupil, this could be the beginning of a detached retina. I bet "go to your doctor" isn't a very popular answer around here. :(
