Purple fingernails please help

Hi, I hope you can clear my doubts. On July 14th, I went running and overexercised. I really run much more than what I was used. When I finished, my fingernails were purple. Since then, they have stayed that way. A week after that, I started having many other symptoms (headaches, wooziness, etc).
I was told by my doctors that it was raynauds, but now I have found out that raynaud causes attacks and then fingernails come back to normal. Mine are purple all the time, but occasionally my right thumb and left index turn very blue, although they return to purple when I press them.
So definitely this is not raynauds, is it? Am I having some kind of oxigen deprivation or circulatory problems or anything else? What tests do I need to find this out? I've had blood tests, EKG, echo, CT scan, X-Ray and spirometry. They all came back normal. Also they tested my oxygen with that device on the tip of my finger. Normal.
What tests, for god sake, can say what is wrong with my fingernails? Why the doctors don't seem to be interested on them? Why do they say it is raynauds? I am sure my other symptoms have something to do with my fingernails. Please answer! Thanks!

Hi Ricobord, thanks for your answer.
Do you think it is possible that this autoimmune disorder was triggered by overexercising?

My understanding is the same as yours...that Raynaud's comes and goes and chronically purple nails usually suggests a circulatory problem or a heart problem.

Since you have been checked out by a cardiologist, you might try a rheumatologist. Sometimes people with autoimmune disorders develop circulatory or connective tissue disorders.

Also, ask your doctor what specialist you can go see about possible circulatory issues.  (I know what a vascular surgeon is, but I don't know which specialty deals with overall health of the circulatory system.)
