Rectal bleeding and weight loss

Hi all,

Just looking for a little guidance.

I'm 24 and I have suffered on and off with chronic diarrhoea for the last 5-6 months. Typical IBS symptoms.
Over the last four weeks, I've had rectal bleeding, sometimes just on tissue, sometimes a lot in the toilet and more recently mixed in with stools. Stools are thin and mucus like, or very watery. I have gone from 8st 8 to 7st 11 in the last two months with no change in diet or exercise (in fact I've stopped exercising). I feel constantly 'under the weather' and feel fatigued much more so than normal. I have no abdominal pain except for cramping after eating and what seems to be a constant ache in my back below my ribs. Most recently I've lost my appetite and feel full for days with no food. I feel sick when I eat although I know I have to.

I had a routine rectal examination to which he concluded no piles or anything he could see or feel that was abnormal. My doctor sent me for blood tests which all came back normal. No anaemia, no vitamin deficiencies, liver and kidney functioning normal, no issues with white cell count. He has decided he is unsure and is so sending me for a colonoscopy. He prescribed Mebevarine tablets however they simply worsened my symptoms.

There is much speculation as to what might be wrong - are all these symptoms simply IBS? My doctor suggested ulcers as a possibility? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hope you feel better. Have they mentioned Crohn's disease.....Perhaps request an inflammation test also....such as a CRP test or a Sed rate test.
