Severe heel pain from stomped foot

I was stepping out of the shower and my foot slipped, with the other foot in mid motion I stomped the floor pretty hard to catch myself from falling. In doing so I had a severe crippling paing shoot through my foot sending me to the floor in pain. Last night I didnt sleep hardly at all because of the pulsating pain in the heel of my foot. I noticed when iceing my heel it was very hot. When I woke up this morning the pain is almost gone but I cant walk on my foot, when I put pressure on it the pain returns pretty severe on the outter side and center of my heel. Swelling was very minimal and there is no restiction in movement except when i spread my toes i feel a pulling kind of pain in the middle of my heel and on the outsie bottom of my heel. Im hoping its just brusied but I cant walk on it unless my foot it fully arched and im on my toes. I dont have insurance and cant really afford to go to the ER at this time. Im 32 and had no prior foot pain before this. I read somewere to stay off it for 72 hrs so thats what Im doing. I was hopeing some out there may have had a similar instance they could give me some input on their experience.

Thanks everyone,
John

Sounds like you were in some real pain, sorry about that,It could be a a slight fracture or a torn litigant, that is very painful.Ice every 4-6 hours,                   anti-inflammatory like aspirin-Advil  and  if you can locate a walk in clinic that is based on a pay skill or free would be the best.I would google free medical services in your town. Hope it feels better soon!
