Shortness of breath, mucus, pain on left side

My spouse has been having difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, coughs up thick clear sometimes yellow green mucus. The doctor does not take him serious when he says that he feels as if he isnt getting air into his left lung. We have done blood test which have only show slight anemia and a vitamin d deficency. The chest xrays do not show anything. This issue has been going on for a few years now. We believe he got pneumonia before( self diagnosed). We had to make the doctor send us for a sputum test which the gram stain showed moderate gram positive bacilli, moderate gram positive cocci, and few gram negative bacilli, as well as moderate wbc.

If anyone can help please

If he is having difficulty breathing, he should be seen by an urgent care or ER doctor and probably follow up with a pulmonologist.
