Sore Throat

HI, I’m new here. I have been experiencing neck pain below my thyroid on the left side for 2 moths, suddenly the sore neck went into one side of my throat and ear Left side. It gets worse after 5-6 pm and I have to take serious pain meds to get it to calm down. I feel like I have the flu or something But I have no fever and no other symptoms. Covid tests all negative. My doctor put my on a huge dose of augmentin and it’s not helping. I had Delta in August pretty bad but stayed home and it cleared up and I have been fine until this started. ANYONE???

Hi, sorry you are feeling sick.  Have you had a throat culture? Are your lymph nodes swollen? Any fever?  It could be a number of things. Are you very fatigued? It could get mononucleosis,  or a Epstein Barr Virus. Those don't respond to antibiotics.  Have you had a complete blood count, and thyroid test for TSH? Also, if they don't think it is viral you could get an endoscopy. Let me know what other tests they have done . I am the community leader for the infectious disease site. You can also post there.
