Stomach Spells

Over the last year  & 1/2 I have several episodes  where I have had severe pain in the top part of my stomach with in 30mins of eating.  I get light headed - sometimes vomit - break out in a cold sweat - get to the point I feel like I am going to pass out.... the "spell" last about a hour, but the rest of the day I feel drained and just awful!  I had my gall bladder removed last year, because we thought that was the problem.  My last episode was in Feb - we did sugar test then and discoved I had low blood sugar.  I had a spell today - but my blood sugar was fine... WHAT Could this be?

The pain is in the middle right under where your ribs meet. I agree - I called my Doc yesterday and waiting for a call back. I think it is time to move on to plan C. Since A and B did not work! Something is not right somewhere. The cramping pain passes in a hour or so, but I feel horrible the rest of the day.  I work full time and have 2 small kids.... I don't need this to continue to happen.

Where is the pain located? It could possibly be pancreatitis which commonly presents with severe upper left abdominal pain especially after eating... I recommend seeing your doctor and asking for a referral to a gastroenterologist.. I believe that the removal of your gallbladder was most likely not necessary and in fact recent studies have shown that often times its better to not remove it because it can cause more complications.. anyways I think you should start with your primary doctor and get a work up and then see a specialist... Best of luck to you and keep us updated!
