Sudden joint pain

I was at work today - same old days with noting out of the ordinary - and I suddenly felt like my right foot by the base of the big toe had been fractured. Sharp shooting pains.
My knees had been hurting quite badly the day before, but I put that off to just "bad knees".
Later that evening, both my wrists started hurting ( the left far worse than the right) to the point where I couldn't make a full fist.  There was swelling and sharp pain, so I iced it and too some Advil to reduce swelling.
I'm 39, and my menstrual cycle has started to become erratic, both in the timing of the cycle and the length of periods.

Am I experiencing the onset of menopause?

Accutane has latent side effects.  Joint and muscle problems are just a couple on the list.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
Sudden onset multiple joint pain can be due MS, lupus, STD, gout, rheumatoid arthritis, viral fever, chronic fatigue syndrome, or rheumatism.
It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor for tests to rule out these conditions one by one.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
