I threw out the trash earlier. I should have kept them but I felt so disgusted so I immediately through them away. The flies sort of resembled the raisins that you could have mistakenly ate them and thought they were small peices of raisins. They were like dark brown or black and very tiny raisin colored. The worms weren't see through. I bought these raisins on Amazon (sunmaid) and will contact them from there.
Here is a link- pic I found on the Internet that resembles the worm I saw

Sounds like the worms were the fly larvae.
Both the flies mentioned have very thin and small looking thread like practically see through "worms"
Have a look at scariad flies they are much smaller than the fruit flies, and are black. To me the fruit flies look black.
Can you not get them out the bin with the raisin packet?
It may be worth ringing up the company even if you get the packet out with the code number on it, especially if it is a free phone number.
Best wishes.
Hello jemma116, Shoot I threw them away earlier. The bugs were really tiny and black they don't look like fruit flies to me. I looked up fruit flies and they are honey colored. Anyway thank you for the reply :)
I know how you feel, but I do not think that these are parasites so you should be OK. If you are worried about it, you could get a stool sample checked.
What I would do is to pack the Sunmaid dried raisins in a air tight plastic bag and send it to your Environmental Health department so that they can analyse the bugs. Another alternative is to return it with a letter to the company. They are likely to get it analysed to identify the bug. It sounds very much like a warehouse problem before the dried fruit was packaged. There must have been some eggs laid inside the fruit and whilst being in a warm environment (your home) they hatched out.
Companies are very appreciative to know when there is a problem so that they can put it right. They usually send some money vouchers as a gesture of goodwill as compensation.
The bugs are likely to have got drowned in the yogurt, so they would have been dead by the time you swallowed them. It is extra protein, but not a very nice type of protein yuh! By the description it sounds like they are the fruit fly (scariad fly)
Many years ago I opened up a Cadbury Xmas chocolate wrapped in foil and that had a big fat grub with a dark head on it. Luckily I looked at the chocolate before putting it into my mouth. It turned out to be the warehouse moth.
I am glad that since those days Cadbury's chocolates are wrapped tightly in sealed wrappings.
Hope you get over your ordeal very soon, no doubt you will be examining any packets of raisins before you eat them.
Best wishes.
Hello Caregiver222, Thanks for replying. After eating the raisins there was a lot of yogurt left, so I could have swallowed? :( A thousand of them. They have been swimming in the yogurt.
Good protein. Nothing will happen to you eat worms. I am excluding parasites, such as tapeworms. I ate them in survival school cooked in several different ways.
