Swollen right cervical lymph node and abdominal pain (more on Left Side)

Hi there,I am 26 female I got heartburn twice in December, it was hard cause I taught I was having a heart issues as it caused me palpitations. I went to a doctor and he gave me Pantoprazole and domperidone. As I’m taking it, I feel bloated and got burning sensation on my stomach, joint pain and more palpitations and left chest pain so I returned and the doctor said I might have AAA coz I got pulse visible on my abdomen. So I decided to go to a cardiologist ECG done and utz (twice) showed normal aorta, normal ECG as well. The doctor changed my medication to omeprazole and gaviscon, my hyperacidity was relieved but still having abdominal pain(more on left side) and gurgling sound on stomach going up to the throat. I’m really anxious because suddenly I can feel my lymph node on right neck just below my jaw, so I went on Internal Medicine, the doctor said the sound was from hyperacidity so he lowered the dose of omeprazole and I will take it until next week and observe for the node for any changes. As if may came from my reflux. But now I don’t feel any changes on my node I can still palpate it. My worry now is my abdominal pain. Coz it was on and off and ranges from mild to severe. Next week is my follow up check up. I pray everything will be fine. But I’m really anxious about this, constantly thinking what if it was that serious.

I hope you find what the cause is. :)

I remember my mother saying she had pain radiating to her back as well with gastritis.

I found an article from American Family Physician - Evaluation of Acute Abdominal Pain in Adults with this list of causes for LUQ pain...

"Left upper quadrant

Cardiac: angina, myocardial infarction, pericarditis

Gastric: esophagitis, gastritis, peptic ulcer

Pancreatic: mass, pancreatitis

Renal: nephrolithiasis, pyelonephritis

Vascular: aortic dissection, mesenteric ischemia"

Is the pain in the upper or lower abdomen? I forgot about my mother's gastritis pain (upper left abdomen). Digestive enzymes heal the stomach lining although this takes time to heal.

No pain but she didn't have bacterial overgrowth in her intestinal tract. You can try probiotics (good bacteria) to see if the pain goes away. If symptoms persist see another doctor.

Thanks again, my reflux subsides as I’m still taking omeprazole until Thursday. Ok I’ll try probiotics and see if it could help (hope it could), my abdomen feels gassy when I’m feeling pain. Will see my doctor this coming week and will tell him everything. Hope he could give me an answer. He was my 3rd doctor actually. 3 of them said I’m fine. Huhu, I can’t convince myself as the pain goes on and off.

My mother had severe GERD and was told she had hyperacidity. The thing is hyperacidity is rarely the cause of reflux. She actually had very low stomach acid and now takes betaine HCL with pepsin and digestive enzyme supplements with great results.

Excerpt from Chris Kresser's article "Get rid of heartburn and GERD forever in three simple steps"...

"To review, heartburn and GERD are not caused by too much stomach acid. They are caused by too little stomach acid and bacterial overgrowth in the stomach and intestines. Therefore successful treatment is based on restoring adequate stomach acid production and eliminating bacterial overgrowth.

This can be accomplished by following the “three Rs” of treating heartburn and GERD naturally:

1. Reduce factors that promote bacterial overgrowth and low stomach acid.

2. Replace stomach acid, enzymes and nutrients that aid digestion and are necessary for health.

3. Restore beneficial bacteria and a healthy mucosal lining in the gut. Reduce factors that promote bacterial overgrowth and low stomach acid

Carbohydrates
As we saw in Part II and Part III, a high carbohydrate diet promotes bacterial overgrowth. Bacterial overgrowth – in particular H. pylori – can suppress stomach acid. This creates a vicious cycle where bacterial overgrowth and low stomach acid reinforce each other in a continuous decline of digestive function.

It follows, then, that a low-carb (LC) diet would reduce bacterial overgrowth. To my knowledge there have only been two small studies done to test this hypothesis. The results in both studies were overwhelmingly positive."

Thank you red star, does she also feel pain in her left abdomen? Radiating at the back?sometimes can feel it at right side also I’m really worried that the pain was something else like what if it’s coming from other organs, though my doctor said that I’m fine and too young to think about those things. 8 yrs ago I got renal calculi which became cyst and 2years ago it gone. Also worried about the recurrence of that as I’m experiencing pain like before. But my doctor said my utz is normal and he cannot see any problem related to my symptoms
