potassium levels

I went to have my wisdom teeth removed today and before they started, the nurse mentioned my potassium levels were high. They asked if I was active, if I have eaten bananas recently or drank gatorade. None of these have happned. I have not been to the gym or done any strenous activites in a least a month. I can not stand bananas and do not eat them ever and same with gatorade.
I am just curious as to why the doctors asked this and if this is something I should possibly look into.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hi high blood potassium needs looking into.
I suggest you go to the doctor for further evaluation,
High blood potassium can also come with certain medical conditions too.
A full thourough investigation needs to be carried out, too much potassium is bad, and also have your kidneys checked too.
It can interfere with cardiac output.
Good luck

Yes you should look in to it.  Your doctor probably mentioned it because the anesthesia can could have had caused a reaction to the high potassium.  You should see your family physican.  Potassium helps control your heart. This could just be a one time thing though.  You could be rechecked and your potassium is at a normal level.  You should see your doctor and have the potassium rechecked.  Sometimes while you are having your blood drawn, the blood can hemolyze and cause abnormal results due to the blood draw, meaning that it is not a true reading and should be redrawn.  See your doctor. I hope this helps.
