Unexplained Sinus Tarsi Pain

I am 34 year old female with chronic bilateral ankle pain. The pain in my right foot is terrible..my ankle aches all the time, my left foot is bearable.  I can't wear shoes other than sneakers, and even wearing sneakers my foot aches. I was diagnosed with sinus tarsi syndrome.  Originally in May 2015, I had grade 2 ankle sprain of ATFL ligament and bone edema in calcaneus...this was after completing exercise program T25 and running.  Had CT scan, MRI scans, cortisone injections, Xrays, and everything shows to be normal now, but the pain has not subsided.  I even had sinus tarsi debridement surgery in my right foot. I have tried chiropractor, physical therapy, and I am now going for Active Release Therapy. I was wondering if anyone had a similar case out there.  I am desperate for answers.  My ankle never swells. I just have a deep ache.  I've also had blood work to rule out rheumatic diseases, but that also is normal.  Any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry you've been going through this for so long and are still in pain. What have the PT and other suggested? It might be worth considering getting a second opinion from another orthopedic or physical therapist who specifically specializes in sports injuries. Based on what I was reading balance and proprioceptive training, muscle strengthening exercises, bracing, taping, Cryotherapies, and anti-inflammatory meds are interventions often explored for sinus tarsi. These may be things to ask about. Hoping you find relief soon...
